Ko Chang

I have to say that in many ways, this is one of the best places I've ever been. I'm paying $2.50/night for my own bungalo that, at high tide, has waves crashing under the porch. The bungalo is only maybe 6 feet by 10 feet, leaks a little in the rain, and has a mat on the floor to sleep on, but still... Other places in town are not so affordable. In Mae Sot you can call the US for 3bhat/minute (10 cents). Here it is 30B ($1). In Mae Sot, a 24 oz Leo beer at a bar is 55B. Here a 12 oz is 60B.

Complaints aside, I have had some of the best food of my trip here. The highlight was grilled crab made into a red curry. I think I can still manage this 4 day trip on less than $100, but it's going to be more challenging than I had thought.

I'll stay busy tomorrow and Saturday morning, but I'm looking forward to heading home. It's going to be a long stretch of travelling, but it's always easier going home.
